2019

1.The 9th National Colloquium themed Aetiological diagnosis and Morbidity Management and Disability Prevention of Lymphoedema was conducted from January 14, 15 and 16 -2019

2. Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, visited Institute of Applied dermatology on 16-1-2019 on the occasion of the colloquium 2019.He spoke to The New Indian Express and expressed that the integrative protocol developed by IAD for the treatment of Lymphoedema/Lymphatic Filariasis is a subject to be introduced to premier institutes like AIIMS.

3. “Never Fear Filariasis or Lymphedema we care for you” slogan was released by Padma Shri Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary to the Govt. of India, Ministry of AYUSH on January 16 2019

4.Dr S R Narahari and Dr Guruprasad Aggithaya, attended the conference on ‘Yoga for Health and Therapy’ by Patanjali research foundation Haridhwar.Organised Royal field bike rally for awareness of lymphedema by “Royal 40 riders and Mangalore bulls” on January 14, 2019 Walk with Lymphedema patients and awareness about Lymphedema conducted during the 9th National Colloquium

2018

1.The 8th National Colloquium themed Advancing Lymphedema research and Integrative medicine through intersectoral collaboration for better patient care was conducted 22nd to 25th January 2018.

2. Dr S R Narahari with Team IAD conducted compression therapy workshop and made presentation on its unique wound care methods on 16, 17 and 18 of March 2018 at ‘Woundcon’ conference held at Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara (SDM) College Ayurveda and Hospital Hassan.

3. IAD participated in the International Lymphoedema Framework Conference, held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, from 6 to 9 June, 2018. Dr. Guruprasad Aggithaya, the Chief Ayurveda Consultant of IAD, took part in the conference and conducted two sessions on integrative medicine and Yoga

2017

1.Shri E. Chandrasekharan, the Hon’ble Minister for Revenue & Housing, Govt. of Kerala, inaugurated the Centre for Integrated Medicine and Public Health (CIMPH) at IAD. The Centre was built with financial aid received from Govt. of Kerala.

2. MOU is signed between IAD and PES University of Bangalore for Physician- Scientist Research Programmes

3. IAD’s Director Dr.S.R.Narahari was invited in the interface program ‘Science, Innovations and Entrepreneurship’, held by ICAR-Central Plantation Crops Research Institute, Kasaragod held on 15th September 2017. The program aimed at imparting knowledge about bringing in innovations and entrepreneurship in school children from selected schools of Kasaragod Educational district.

2016

1.Identifying the Atopy in school children and environmental factors that influence the disease project was launched on 26th April 2016. The project was the first of its kind to be brought under the centre for integrated Medicine and Public Health at the Institute of Applied Dermatology.

2. Dr Narahari, Prof Terence Ryan Emiretus Professor of Dermatology, Oxford along with Dr Guruprasad Aggithaya edited the special section on Integrative Medicine. This has been published in Current Science Vol 111, no 2 –July 25 2016.

3. Dr S R Narahari participated and presented a key note on ‘Integrative approach of patient care in Dermatology; a realistic overview’ in the Symposium on Ayurveda principles and practices in light of contemporary science organized by Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth New Delhi on 4th October, 2016 at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi

4.Ms SruthiMol Integrative Dietician at IAD secured second place in the Bioethics Certificate course conducted at Manipal University for new members of ethics committee.

2015

1.Organized the first lymphoedema session of International League of Dermatological Societies for the forthcoming 23rd World Congress of Dermatology, June 10-13, 2015 Vancouver

2. Editorial Board of Current Science approves a special section in Integrative Medicine to be edited by Dr. Narahari and Prof. Terence Ryan. Current Science is the leading interdisciplinary science journal from India published in collaboration with the Indian Academy of Sciences, from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

3. Post Graduate Medical Journal from UK invites Prof. Ryan and Dr. Narahari to write a paper on swollen legs based on experience of Integrative Medicine

4.Government of Kerala, through its budget allocation begins a centre for Integrative Medicine and Public Health in Institute of Applied Dermatology

1.Double blind randomized control trial published for the first time in procedure based therapy of ayurveda by conducting study on Navarakizhi as muscle nourishing treatment in hemeplegia

  1. Sixth National Colloquium on Evidence Based Integrative Medicine for Lymphatic Filariasis and other Chronic Dermatoses..
  2. Oushadhi the Pharmaceutical Corporation Kerala Ltd and the Institute of Applied Dermatology have signed a memorandum of agreement to jointly hold inter-disciplinary research activities.
  3. The Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeswara University (JSSU), Mysore and the Institute of Applied Dermatology have signed a Memorandum of agreement to conduct joint research progrmme in the field of Lymphatic Filarisis and Integrative Dermatology.
  4. The Central University of Kerala (CUK) Kasaragod and the Institute of Applied Dermatology (IAD) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement to conduct joint research programmes in the field of integrative treatment.
