We were honoured to have Smt Alankrita Pandey IAS, Executive Director Rajya AYUSH SamitI Bihar at our Patna treatment centre where Lymphatic Filariasis and Lymphedema patients are offered free treatment under a project funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Smt Alankrita Pandey, IAD Mentor Prof Terence Ryan of Oxford University, IAD Founder-Director Dr S R Narahari and IAD Director Dr K S Prasanna interacted with the patients and presented them with medical kits. Our team of doctors also visited the houses of the patients listening attentively to their concerns and explaining the integrative medicine being offered for successfully treating complex Lymphatic Filariasis and Lymphedema.

We are pleased to announce the 11th National Symposium on Evidence-Based Integrated Medicine for Lymphatic Filariasis and other Lymphoedema, organized by the Institute of Applied Dermatology in collaboration with Government Ayodhya Shivkumari Ayurved College & Hospital, Begusarai,  on 15th Sept 2023. IAD Founder-Director Dr. S R Narahari, Prof. Terence Ryan of Oxford University, United Kingdom, and other doctors from IAD explaining the treatment process for a patient with acute Lymphatic Filariasis to healthcare workers from Malappuram. These healthcare workers are attending a two-day training program at the Institute of Applied Dermatology in Kasaragod.

 

 

 

The 11th National Symposium on Evidence-Based Integrated Medicine for Lymphatic Filariasis and Lymphedema was conducted at our campus on the 5th and 6th of September 2023.  Kasaragod MLA Shri N A Nellikkunnu inaugurated the two-day symposium in the presence of Kasaragod Assistant Collector Shri Dilip K Kainikkara. IAD founder-director Dr S R Narahari, Professor Terence Ryan, Department of Dermatology, Oxford University, London, University of Cape Town Dermatology Head Prof Gail Todd, Mankadda Community Health Centre Civil Surgeon Dr Abdulla Manima, IAD director Dr. K S Prasanna and IAD Chief Administrative Officer M Bhaskaran were present on the occasion. The symposium is a platform for global healthcare experts to engage in insightful discussions on the innovations in integrative medicine for the successful treatment of Lymphatic Filariasis and Lymphedema

IAD Director Dr. S R Narahari spoke at the WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. His groundbreaking presentation “Introducing Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine for Filarial Lymphedema as a Public Health Intervention”, at the summit is a true testament to his years of research and dedication in developing an integrative treatment protocol for the successful management of Lymphatic Filariasis and Lymphedema. His presentation highlights how the integration of Ayurveda, Yoga, and Allopathy is proving to be a successful approach in treating Filarial Lymphedema, paving the way for a healthier world.

We had the privilege of welcoming Dr Bhupendra Tripathi, Country Lead for Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) India, to our centre at Rajkiya Ayurvedic College and Hospital in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The unwavering support of BMGF has been instrumental in our mission to combat lymphatic filariasis and provide free treatment to those in need. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to BMGF for their continuous support, and we are grateful to Dr Bhupendra Tripathi for gracing us with his presence

A delegation of public health officials of Uttar Pradesh today visited our Center at Rajkiya Ayurvedic College and Hospital at Varanasi to see firsthand the critical work being done by us to treat Lymphatic Filariasis and Lymphedema patients. The delegation comprised Dr Sandeep Chaudhary (Chief Medical Officer, Varanasi), Dr S S Kanaujia (Additional Chief Medical Officer) Dr Sharat Chandra Pandey ( District Malaria Officer) and Dr Amit Kumar Singh (Incharge Filaria Control Unit Varanasi and Biologist). The delegation was welcomed by IAD Founder-Director Dr. S R Narahari and IAD Director Dr K S Prasanna, who explained to them about the integrative treatment protocol followed by the IAD to successfully treat the patients. The delegates spoke with patients about their experiences and the impact the treatment has had on improving their health and quality of life.

Dr V P Singh, Additional Director, Malaria and Vector Borne Diseases, Uttar Pradesh and Dr Ritu Srivastav, District Malaria Officer, Lucknow visited the centre of Institute of Applied Dermatology at CCRAS Hospital in Lucknow where free treatment is being provided to Lymphatic Filariasis patients. The surgery-free integrative treatment project is funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and supported by Ministry of Ayush and Uttar Pradesh Government.
