Lichen Planus is a non-contagious inflammatory and itchy (pruritic) disease. There are several typesand it can affect any part of the body. IAD offers effective Integrative Medicine treatment combining Ayurvedic treatments with Allopathy for lichen planus with a proven success story of treating number of patients. IAD adopts various unique approaches in treating lichen planus which includes external applications, oral medications etc.Lichen planus lesions are small, flat-topped, with different shapes and violaceous (blue in appearance) in color. We investigate in all patients for any cause for Lichen planus We search for-

  1. Infections anywhere in the body that could be as simple as tooth decay or dental cavities
  2. Allergic reaction or immune reaction
  3. Exposure to medications, dyes, and other chemical substances
  4. Reactions to amalgam fillings of dental cavities (oral lichen planus)
  5. People with hepatitis are more prone to develop lichen planus
  6. Lichen planus rashes occur as allergic reactions to medications for high blood pressure, heart disease and arthritis
  7. However in some patients no definite cause is identified

Patients are encouraged to discuss with a counselor on arrival what they feel about the diseases and why it might have occurred in them. This helps in understanding the health related quality of life and disease causation by the treatment team. Thecounseling process also helps the patients to realise the scientificunderstanding of the disease and the need for treatment compliance to get the desired relief.Following this the multi-disciplinary team of doctors and therapists examine the patient to develop a consensus treatment protocol. Investigation

Routine blood &urine investigation, liver and kidney function tests are conducted to, rule out diseases like Hepatitis C. Occasionally blood investigations are repeated during follow-up to monitor the disease progression and to check for side effects of drugs. The disease status before and after treatment are analyzed by comparing the photographs of the affected region taken with the consent of the patient.
